Think about an exciting experience you recently had. Write an e-mail message to a friend to tell him or her about it. Be sure to use clear details to help the reader experience the excitement with you.
Homework Overload? (Persuasive)
Your school is going to start requiring two hours of homework every night. Write a persuasive essay to let the school board know your opinion of this idea. Give clear reasons to support your opinion.
New Learning (Narrative)
Sometimes people learn more outside of school than inside of school. When have you learned a big lesson outside of class? Tell about the experience and show what you learned. Remember to include clear details.
Event Promotion (Persuasive)
Many exciting events happen at school. Which event is your favorite and why? Do you like to participate in the event or just watch? Promote your favorite event and be sure to give reasons why a reader can get excited by this event, too.
